Maíz Lucero was born in Denver, Colorado. The son of a muralist and a schoolteacher, with one sister. He attended grade school at Presentation of Our Lady and St. Bernadette and graduated from Holy Family High School. He played Football, Baseball and Basketball for the Holy Family Tigers where, as co-captain, he led the football team to the state playoffs after a decade long losing streak. Lucero received his B.F.A. in Theatre from the University of Colorado, Boulder. He has worked in Film, Theatre, Television and Radio in the Denver, Seattle and Los Angeles areas. Maíz's work has been seen on The Showtime Network, The Movie Channel, The Learning Channel (TLC) and Nippon Television Network, Japan.
Graduated from the University Of Colorado at Boulder.Maiz was affectionately given the nickname 'Baby Brando' by co-star Julian Lee during the shooting of the feature film 'Tiger Street.'
